A versatile administrator, he has proven experience working with government agencies, both Canadian and foreign and is familiar with the internal functioning of organisations as varied as associations, small and medium enterprises, multinationals, state-owned companies and financial institutions. During his career, he has held i mportant posts in areas ranging from the technical to top management, from ministerial advisor to human rights co-ordinator.

He is capable of working in both French and English as proven by his achievements in the multinational companies GEC-Alsthom and ABB, and by his involvement in several associations, whether in his capacity as CEO, president or member of the executive board. Moreover, he has worked for Hydro-Québec, both in Quebec and overseas. Concerned with the financial success of the companies and the projects with which he has associated himself, Jean-René Marcoux has always held top man agement posts.
